BACK TO BASICS

2009 / 2010 Religious Education Registrations

Beginning June 1, registrations will be available for the upcoming Sacramental Preparation Catechesis:

Level One for those who have had no religious education,

Level Two for those who have had one year of religious ed and

Level Three for those who have had three years of catechesis.

Students having previously received their sacraments—Confession, Confirmation and Communion—are invited to be teacher’s assistants. There is a limit of 40 students per level. (A waiting list may be necessary.)

Junior and Senior High School students will have an intensive one year program.

The cost is $50 for one child or $100 for a family. Please register in the parish office. Thanks you.

Adult Catechesis

Father Gonzales will be offering a Catholic Doctrine Class for adults later this year. This class is intended for those who wish to join the Church, those adults needing the Sacrament of Confirmation or those desiring a refresher course in the basics of the Catholic faith. The class will be held Wednesday evenings from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. in the New Jerusalem Room.

Perpetual Adoration in Glendale

Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in Glendale has begun Perpetual Adoration. This is a powerful apostolate rich in graces. If you World like to join them, please fill out the registration card found in the foyer. They will be forwarded to OLPH and they will contact you with further information.

Perpetual Adoration in Peoria

The Saint Charles Borromeo Adoration Chapel is “in the works.”  Estimates need to be gathered for painting, pews, flooring, a monstrance and sacred art. More information will be forthcoming during the Summer.

Attention

Attention all who have taken a Safe Environment Training Class or the Call to Protect program; it is time to update your training. You may do so online by following the following steps:

Go to http://www.safeenvironmenttraining.org

Select “Online Renewal”

Enter your name and street address and click on “Submit”

On the next page you will see Welcome; verify the info is correct and click on “Update and Continue Online”

On the next page select “Internet Safety Online Video” or “Our Continued Commitment Online Video”

Follow along with the instructions and video

Once you are in “Internet Safety” or “Our Continued Commitment”, you will see a short series of videos and then begin the training. After you are finished, your record will automatically be updated in our database and you will receive an e-mail confirmation of your completed renewal.

Please Note: A session will be held in the Fall for those ministers and volunteers who have not yet been trained.

Congratulations

Congratulations to the young people of our parish who received the Sacrament of Confirmation and those who celebrated their First Holy Communion this past Wednesday. Thir are now strengthened in the walk with the Lord bu the grace of these sacraments.
